Poet · Spoken Word Artist · Author
D.L. DAVIS took on the role of poet in 1987. It all started with love letters to his high school sweetheart. Soon the letters became poems. Every time he got the urge to write something, it had to be poetic.
D.L. DAVIS has performed in various venues in Palmdale, CA, Lancaster, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Hollywood, CA, San Diego, CA, and Paris, FR. D.L. ranked 3rd Place in the 2010 San Diego Poetry Slam competition & co-hosted the internet poetry radio show, Xpressions Radio – Bad Boys Kitchen (2010 National Poetry Award Winner).
“Inspiration is everywhere.” D.L. was inspired to write “The Heart of A Lonely Man” during an open-mic night session. The love for his wife inspired, “Y.O.U.” And he was moved to pen “The Voice” after reading a poem by a fellow poet.
D.L. believes, "life itself is an immeasurable source of inspiration. If you “act” as a “receiver” in life, you are certain to receive inspiration from somewhere, something or someone." In other words,
"KEEP AN OPEN MIND AND INSPIRATION WILL COME TO YOU"
